Connectors Overview

To exchange data with external systems, Matrix42 Workspace Management uses Data Providers and Connectors. This article provides a list of available Data Providers and Connectors for the Matrix42 Workspace Management by source.

SAP Solutions Manager

The purpose of the SAP Solution Manager Connector application is to synchronize ticket data between MATRIX42 Software Asset & Service Management (“Service Store”) and SAP Solution Manager. This application is a basic implementation that can be expanded by a developer in the context of a particular customer system, so that it covers the specifics of the local service store and uses the web service provided in the SAP system.

The basic application includes a SOAP web service that is hosted in the IIS of the Service Store server. In addition, a template-like workflow is included, in the course of which the communication with the SAP System is carried out. There, another SOAP web service is expected, which is provided in the context of the SAP Solution Manager and which can use the data sent from the Service Store, but other ways of data exchange are also conceivable.
The basic application includes extensions of the data models that can contain the necessary additional information for tickets, and also includes value mappings for status and priority.At present, the data synchronization of Incidents is available. For other types of tickets (problems, changes, etc.) the data exchange can be added upon request.

LANDESK Inventory Connector

The LANDESK Inventory Connector manages the integration in Service Store of the third-party LANDESK Inventory Manager. Inventory will be collected via Workflows and imported in Matrix42 Service Store. Several Inventory data source can be defined and executed in parallel.

Script Runner Connector

ScriptRunner® is an Automation and Delegation Solution for PowerShell, developed by AppSphere, and is the answer to the complex challenges of management and automation.
The ScriptRunner Connector allows triggering PowerShell Scripts in the ScriptRunner® Solution from Service Store. The Connector provides the possibility to communicate with ScriptRunner using Service Store actions or dedicated activities in your own Workflows.

Service Desk Analytics

Service Desk Analytics provides you with a BI warehouse for your service desk. Analyze effectiveness & efficiency, track your set goals & KPIs and discover optimization potential. The supplied Power BI connector also provides individual reporting and deep insights into your service desk data and processes.

Service Desk Analytics transfers your data via ETL processes into a multi-dimensional data cube. Different aggregation levels form an adequate base for answering different complex, analytical questions

Asset Manager Webservice (SOAP)

The Asset Manager SOAP Webservice provides a possibility to call Matrix42 Service Desk actions from your own client application. The following actions are available:

Service Desk Webservice (SOAP)

The Service Desk SOAP Webservice provides a possibility to call Matrix42 Service Desk actions from a proprietary client application. The following actions are available:

Jira Connector (Cubefinity)

The Matrix42 Jira connector offers a real-time synchronization of activities between the two systems Matrix42 and Jira.

  • Bidirectional interface between Matrix42 Service Desk and Jira (Jira Service Desk, Jira Software and Jira Cloud are supported)
  • Synchronizes created and updated activities (Incident, Task, Service Request, Problem, Change, Ticket)

Sophos Mobile Connector (Imbit)

The lmbit Sophos Mobile Connector is an extension to the Matrix42 Service Store. It connects to an instance of Sophos Mobile and serves quite literary as a data provider.

Sophos Mobile is a Software that offers Mobile Device Management. Mobile Devices are registered with Sophos Mobile. This usually is as simple as installing a Sophos Mobile Application on a device and scanning a barcode. The devices are assigned a profile that determines compliance standards. The application provides information pertaining to that mobile device, such as IMEI, phone number, installed Applications, root status etc.

The lmbit Sophos Mobile Connector queries a Web Service to access this information and uses it to create or update Asset Management Data in the Matrix 42 Service Store. Among the data that is provided by the Sophos Mobile Connector are:

  • the Name of the Device
  • the description
  • liability
  • Serial Number
  • IMEI
  • OS (Platform and Version)
  • an inventory of the installed Applications

Macmon Connector (Imbit)

The lmbit macmon Connector for the Matrix42 Service Store allows you to manage Endpoints in the macmon Appliance from inside the Service Store Asset Management.
Endpoint Data kept in the macmon Appliance that is used to control Access to Networks is frequently updated with Asset Data from the Service Store. So the liability (Corporate, Employee etc.), status (Active,Discarded etc.) and Endpointgroup Membership is effectively controlled by the Service Store.

Identity and Asset Management (DSP)

The IAM add-on tool from DSP IT Service provides a service item in the Matrix42 service catalog for selecting and ordering access rights to AD-controlled file shares and applications, an intelligent, special workflow for approval and fully automated setup, parking and revocation of access rights.

In the event of an audit, a special reporting module provides all the necessary information about the permits and access rights granted for each person or target system.

The automated health check checks rights assigned by the system and compares them fully automatically with the booking status of the Matrix42 catalog, so that it is ensured that unapproved, granted access rights are identified, checked and process-controlled with an automatically generated ticket.

PerformanceGuard (CapaSystems)

PerformanceGuard provides a unique insight to what an end user experiences when accessing business services. Instead of providing status and up-times for individual components like servers, network, databases etc. PerformanceGuard monitors the performance for every end user all the time on all systems and provides a true image of the current status on intuitive dashboards.

PerformanceGuard includes an agent installed on all end-user computers with impressively low footprint that monitors activity on the network, in browsers as well as within customers own applications. On end-user computers as well as servers the agent monitors a set of standard counters for the computer itself as well as for the individual processes. You can configure any Windows Performance Counter to be monitored with a resolution as high as 1 second.

PerformanceGuard also measures startup and login times, Citrix ICA data as well as network latency.

SharePoint Activities for Matrix42 (Labtagon)

SharePoint Activities is an extension for the Matrix42 Workspace Management System. It expands the full range of features of workflow. Due to the workflow activities Matrix42 System enables the bidirectional data flow between the Matrix42 System and 1 upwards SharePoint Systems. It doesn’t matter if the SharePoint belongs to a cloud or is used in a local data center.
This extension enables to read, to add, to create, to modify or to delete elements from any SharePoint list.
In addiction the Activities are user friendly and can easily be integrated in existing workflows.

This product is compatible with all current Matrix42 versions under maintenance and support.

The reconciliation between the productive Matrix42 Workplace Management System and a test environment is always a very time-consuming activity. The add-on "Abgleich Matrix42 Test- und Produktivsystem" simplifies this work and aligns your production system with your test system with just a few clicks. All data from your productive system is also transferred to your test system.

 The extension saves and copies the database and takes over all adjustments in the Matrix42 Workplace Management application.

Access Manager Connector (Labtagon)

The Labtagon Access Manager Connector for Matrix42 connects the Matrix42 Workspace Management System (WSM) with the Access Manager from BAYOOSOFT. This allows permissions for file servers to be provided as a service from the Service Store.

With the Labtagon Access Manager Connector for Matrix42, users can easily request directory permissions via the Service Portal by ordering the desired permission as a service as usual. This saves the user from having to learn a different user interface. In addition, the connector offers the possibility to display lists of permissions filtered by user or directory.

Bechtle Service Catalog Integraton (Imbit)

With the Bechtle Service Catalogue Integration, you automate and standardise your manual, often time-consuming ordering processes. Your IT organisation will be sustainably relieved while at the same time increasing the added value for your entire workforce.

Dracoon Connector (Labtagon)

The DRACOON Connector provides a communication interface between the Matix42 Workspace Management and the DRACOON API. Thus, data spaces, user rights, user accounts, etc. can be ordered centrally and automatically via services. By integrating the DRACOON Connector, the necessity of using an additional portal is eliminated. Ergo, the DRACOON Connector not only saves you the costs of another superfluous portal, but also creates a direct and simple communication between the Matrix42 Workspace Management and the DRACOON API.
