Action: Set Environment Variable

Applies for EMv6 & EMv7

 

"Set Environment Variable" is one of many actions that can be used in the Enterprise Manager to modify a sequence, as illustrated in the following screenshot.

If the "Set Environment Variable" action is selected, the following window is displayed with additional configuration options with various alternatives to share information.

The window is divided into the following sections: Mode, Name, Value and Target.

Mode:

Two mode options are available: Create or remove an environment variable.

Name:

Use the "Name" field to specify the variable name.

Value:

Two options are available:

Use last error code, or

Insert custom value, which can either be a fixed value or a variable.

Target:

The last configuration element defines the availability of the environment variable.

It is either available for the respective task only or can be made available permanently on the computer.
