Report - Financial Risk Assessment

Overview

The Financial Risk Assessment report displays the financial impact of being short of licenses for software products that are included to reporting. 

To display the report values a reporting date must be selected. This date corresponds with the data points stored in the data warehouse filled with compliance information. Also, it is required to select the currency that should be used to  display all values. 

If you have data stored in different currencies, make sure to provide exchange rates to convert in your desired reporting currency.

The report can be filtered by:

  • Company Code
  • Organizational Unit
  • Publisher

Top 10 Financial Risks

In the header area, a table with bar-chart graphic highlights the ten highest financial risks, grouped by publisher.  This table displays the existing investments in licenses, the amount of money required to license existing license requirements and the value of missing licenses.

Sum of cost plan item values associated to purchased licenses for software products of respective publisher
+ Sum of cost plan item values associated to licenses for software products of respective publisher but used for other software products (cross-grades)

Required Sum of highest material unit price for software products of respective software publisher required for all licensed requirements
Unlicensed Sum of highest material unit price for software products of respective software publisher required for unlicensed license requirements

You can drill-down into details for a specific publisher by clicking on the name of the publisher.

Risk per Publisher / Software Product

In the detail area, a table displays financial risks grouped by publisher.  This table displays the existing investments in licenses, the amount of money required to license existing license requirements and the value of missing licenses.

Stock Sum of cost plan item values associated to purchased licenses for software products of respective publisher
Downgrade Sum of cost plan item values associated to licenses for software products of respective publisher but used for other software products (cross-grades)
Available Difference between Stock and Downgrade
Unused Sum of cost plan item values associated to licenses for software products of respective publisher but not used for entitlement of license requirements
Required Sum of highest material unit price for software products of respective software publisher required for all effective license requirements
Unlicensed Sum of highest material unit price for software products of respective software publisher required for all unlicensed license requirements
Risk Difference between Unlicensed and Unused
Trend Current Risk divided by average of last 60 days (in percent) 

You can drill-down into details for a specific publisher by clicking on the name of the publisher.

Example

  • Purchased License: planned costs for 1 usage right in contract item assigned to license
    • Total Investments on Stock:  399 EUR
  • License Requirements: 20 effectively required licenses evaluated by Requisition Template with Material, 1 entitled, 19 not entitled (missing licenses)
    • Unit Price for Purchase: 600 EUR
    • Total Risk: 19 x 600 EUR = 11,400 EUR
