Oracle Database Worksheet
Overview
The Oracle Database Worksheet presents the information about all your inventoried Oracle database instances. If you have Oracle databases deployed, you should use Matrix42 Oracle Database and Datacenter Compliance add-on to inventory all servers, both physical and virtual, as well as hypervisors. This will enable you to proactively assess license implications for the Oracle database products before any vendor review, mitigate your financial risks, and identify possible cost savings.
The Oracle Database Worksheet navigation item consists of four search pages that display collected data. Each search page provides a specific view on your data:
- Systems: Operating system environments that host an Oracle database.
- Instances: Oracle database instances and essential information on the relevant computer system.
- Options: Oracle database options and essential information on the relevant computer system and instance.
- Features: Oracle database features and essential information on the relevant computer system, instance, and option.
Systems
This navigation item contains all computer systems where the scan engine has identified an instance of an Oracle database. You can open and edit Oracle systems as computers. The minimum set of actions is also available.

- Packs Agreed & Granted: List of enabled management packs (abbreviations only) which the database users are granted access to.
- CMP Access (Control Management Pack): Displays actual access to features from Control Management Packs (e.g., diagnostic + tuning). This might be the case even if the corresponding packs are disabled, e.g., when special database views (such as V$ACTIVE_SESSION_HISTORY) have been queried with a SELECT.
- DBA Feature Usage (Database Administration): Displays the list of actually accessed features from management packs (abbreviations only).
- PDB List (Pluggable Databases): Displays the list of pluggable databases that exist in the selected Oracle database instance.
- Computer Name: Unique name of the computer system.
- Type: Operational type of the computer system, displaying either "Physical" or relevant virtualization technology (e.g., VMware, XEN, LPAR).
- Partitioning: Segmenting type that is important for licensing purposes in case of virtualization (Soft Partitioning or Hard Partitioning).
- vCenter: Name of the relevant vCenter environment in case of VMware virtualization.
- Cluster: Name of the hardware cluster where the computer belongs to.
- Host: Name of the physical computer system where the virtualised computer system is run.
- CPU: Number of processor sockets equipped with a CPU.
- Cores: Total number of processor cores available on all sockets.
- Core Factor: Oracle Core Factor that applies to physical processor according to Oracle terms.
- Core Value: Value that is calculated by multiplying number of cores by the relevant Core Factor.
- Special Remarks
- Sessions Users: Number of current users' sessions.
- Sessions: Number of current sessions.
- Sessions Highwater: Highest number of concurrent user sessions since the instance started.
- Sessions Maximum: Maximum number of concurrent user sessions allowed for the instance.
- Sessions Warning: Warning limit for concurrent user sessions for the instance.
- Users: Non-Oracle generated users.
- Users Maximum: Maximum number of named users allowed for the database.
On the preview you can see some additional information:
- Organizational Unit, Cost Center, Location: By default, instances are assigned to the Global organizational unit, cost center, and location. Use the Change Ownership action to link the Oracle instance to another organizational unit, cost center or location.
- Scan: Date when the Oracle database instance was inventoried last time.
- Import: Date when the data on the Oracle database instance was imported last time.
