Release Notes for Matrix42 Enterprise 12.1 Update 2

About this Release

If you are updating from a previous version, make sure to understand any important or breaking changes, database schema changes and known issues of this release.

Product maintenance for versions 11.0 and 12.0 is affected! Please carefully read information in chapter Product Maintenance.

Functional Changes

​We are excited to announce the release of Matrix42 Enterprise ITSM/ESM and Platform - 12.1 Update 2, enhancing analytics, service provisioning, identity management, and user experience, enabling smarter service operations and deeper insights into IT and enterprise service management.

Here’s what’s new in this release:

  • Service Catalog Insights now offers interactive filtering, drill-down analytics, configuration, and personalization options, providing deeper visibility into service usage, order trends, and cost distribution. The enhanced Reporting Toolkit expands data visualization capabilities with tables, single-value cards, currency conversion, auto-refresh, and map-based reporting, making analytics more flexible, dynamic, and actionable.

  • Smart Service Provisioning & Tracking enables independent service provisioning as soon as approvals are completed, reducing delays in multi-item orders. A detailed progress tracker now displays real-time provisioning stages for each service, giving users and administrators better visibility into ongoing processes.

  • Optimized Identity & Access Management introduces more flexibility for Entra ID configurations, allowing organizations to skip user imports while keeping accounts, support non-human identities, and synchronize the Manager field. The login experience is streamlined with a single login button for multiple Entra ID tenants, and OpenID Connect support ensures seamless single sign-on for any OIDC-compliant provider.

  • UI/UX Enhancements & System Optimization improve security, usability, and system performance. Global Search and Configuration Item lists now fully respect user permissions, ensuring users only see what they are authorized to access. A new theming capability allows different departments to apply customized UI styles. Automated data archiving removes outdated ITSM/ESM records like activities, orders, and approvals, keeping the system fast and efficient. A highly wished improvements for "Information Received" status is also introduced for better tracking of service request communications.

  • Multi-Recipient Requests Optimization enhances the user experience when selecting multiple recipients in service requests. Administrators can now define configure service to require dedicate service form, or be not available for Multi-Recipient requests.  They can create custom selection rules, such as requiring all recipients to be from the same department or location. If users attempt an invalid selection, they receive a localized message explaining the restriction, ensuring a smoother and more structured ordering process.

501198 Types KBA, Order, Booking, Service, Service Set, Service Group and Service Bundle are not searchable in SSP with Global Search

496574  New Reporting Toolkit: Drill down from chart to Grids broken: If you click on a 0 or false value on a chart above the grid - grouping option "All" is selected

The setup program can be used to update existing installations of product version 8.0.2 or higher.
