Adding data about employees and assets

Overview

After importing data from Active Directory/LDAP, you should add further useful attributes to the employee and asset information, such as organizational ranking or telephone numbers, if they were not saved in Active Directory/LDAP and already imported.

You should also add the data to the mobile devices that you have imported from Matrix42 Mobile Device Management.

To Add Employee Data

1. Go to Matrix42 Software Asset and Service Management > Master Data application.
2. In the navigation area, click Users > Persons.
3. If the required configuration item is not in the selection list, enter a search term under the search criteria and click Search.
4. Open the respective dialog and enter the required data.
5. Click Done to save and close.

To Add Asset Data

1. Go to Matrix42 Software Asset and Service Management > Assets application.
2. In the navigation area, click Endpoint Devices > Devices per Type > Personal Computers.
3. If the required configuration item is not in the selection list, enter a search term under the search criteria and click Search.
4. Open the respective dialog and enter the required data.
5. Click Done at the bottom to save and close.
