Background processing for contract management

Overview

The contract management overnight data processing is triggered at night by the Contract Management - Data Batch Processing engine activation. It uses information from all contract objects and master data to automatically update values crucial to the contract's life cycle.

Performed technical processes

The following processes are listed in the order of execution.

  • Recalculation of cancellation dates for contracts. This step triggers the compliance rule "Contract cancellation opportunity notice" informing configured users about contracts with an upcoming cancellation option.
  • Recalculation of cancellation dates for contract items. This step triggers the compliance rule "Contract item cancellation opportunity notice" informing configured users about contracts items with an upcoming cancellation option.
  • Evaluation of statuses for contracts. This includes checking if a contract is expired or should be automatically renewed after expiration. Based on this data, the contract status may be updated accordingly.
  • Evaluation of statuses for contract items. This includes checking if a contract item is expired or should be automatically renewed after expiration. Based on this data, the contract item status may be updated accordingly.
  • Creation of default cost plans. This is a recalculation of default cost plans for contact items based on changes that have been made to these contract items.
  • Recalculation of total volume of each contract item. This is a value of the Total Price field on the General tab of a contract item.
  • Recalculation of total volume of each contract based on included contract items. This is a value of the Contract Volume field on the General tab of a contract.
  • Recalculation of the payment dates for contracts. This updates the automatic schedule and values of payments on the Billing tab of a contract.
