UEM Agent

Changes to UEM Agent publication and support guidelines (July 2025)

The previous release model with an "ESR" (Extended Support) and an "SFR" (Standard Support) release will be combined into a single UEM Agent release track. Major features or changes will be provided as TP (Technical Preview) for testing prior to general availability to ensure customers have time to customize and test. Support is defined based on the availability of a new version. 12 months after the release of the successor, the previous version will no longer be supported. We plan to release at least two versions per year to cover security issues, bug fixes and features.

Advantages/reasons for this change:

  • Increased security
    • Faster rollout of newer versions increases overall security - we are constantly improving our code, fixing potential vulnerabilities and updating components that we deploy with the UEM Agent.
  • Better supportability
    • Better interaction with support as there are fewer differences between versions and their expected behavior as well as already fixed issues. We have also established a clear support policy for the UEM Agent for the first time.
  • Improved performance
    • Improved performance and reliability as we continuously improve communication behavior and resource usage.
  • More capacity for new features
    • We conduct very intensive testing before we release a new version of the UEM Agent. By concentrating on a single variant, capacity is freed up for further new functions.

Note: We recommend using the latest UEM Agent as soon as possible to ensure highest possible security and reliability.

Note: Using the UEM Agent on Windows versions that are no longer supported
Windows versions that are no longer supported and whose basic components (.Net and WebView2) are not compatible with the current UEM Agent are not officially supported. Older versions of the UEM Agent may continue to work under certain circumstances, but there is no entitlement to security updates, bug fixes or behavioral adjustments.

The next UEM Agent will be based on the current SFR (Standard Feature Release) version.  It is not planned to provide an updated ESR version in the future.
