Installation Guide III: Installation


Added the required license certificate using the Configuration Wizard of the Digital Workspace Platform (DWP) (?:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix42\Matrix42 Workplace Management\bin\Matrix42.Setup.exe). See the topic License Certificates for more details.

Extension Overview

Matrix42 provides the following UUX configuration packages.

Extension Description
Secure Unified Endpoint Management Secure Unified Endpoint Management is an extended console with added value for Unified Endpoint Management and EgoSecure Data Protection. It combines the device management and security use cases in a single console with dedicated dashboards.
Unified Endpoint Management Provides the UUX management and configuration console for modern and classic device management based on the core products Matrix42 Silverback and Matrix42 Empirum. Additional management engines can be connected.
EgoSecure Data Protection Provides a UUX  management and configuration console for EgoSecure Data Protection.  For the EgoSecure Data Protection Installation please go to here.
Enterprise Service Bus

Provides the base components to use the Service Bus technology. Required to be installed before installing any UEM/EDP or SUEM Package (SUEM 2012 or newer). The Extension is hidden in the Extension Gallery.

The Enterprise Service Bus configuration package is a prerequisite to all UUX 2012 or newer packages. The UUX for SUEM package requires the UUX for UEM package as a prerequisite!

Matrix42 File Upload Service

The Extension is required by the UEM App. It is automatically installed when installing or updating the UEM Extension. The Extension is hidden in the Extension Gallery.

The File Upload Service provides base components which are used by the package upload wizard. The configuration of the Extension is located in Administration - File Upload Service - Storage Connections

EgoSecure UUX Controles The Extension is required by the EgoSecure Data Protection App. The Extension is hidden in the Extension Gallery.
It is automatically installed when installing or updating the EgoSecure Data Protection Extension 21.0.2 or newer.

Installation via Extension Gallery (DWP 10.0.3 or newer) - Recommended

Open the Administration App in the Digital Workspace Platform (DWP) with an administrative account

  1. Navigate to Extensions -> Extension Gallery
  2. Log in with your Matrix42 account if requested
  3. Establish a connection to your DWP environment
    1. Provide the URL to your DWP server in the wizard which appears at first start or via the "Add DWP environment" option in the menu.
  4. Select the desired package from the gallery
    1. Installing the SUEM Extension package will automatically install/update the necessary prerequisite packages. EgoSecure Data Protection is not a requirement and has to be installed additionally if desired.
    2. Alternatively each Extension package can be installed seperately. The installation order needs to be considered:
      1. Unified Endpoint Management (will automatically install/update Enterprise Service Bus and File Upload Service extensions)
      2. EgoSecure Data Protection (optional)
      3. Secure Unified Endpoint Management (optional)

Installation via manually downloaded Configuration packages

  1. Download the current configuration packages from the Matrix42 Marketplace.
  2. Open the Administration App in the Digital Workspace Platform (DWP) with an administrative account
  3. Navigate to Extensions -> Installed Packages.
    1. The installation order needs to be considered
      1. Enterprise Service Bus
      2. File Upload Service (from UEM version 21.0.1 onwards)
      3. Unified Endpoint Management
      4. EgoSecure UUX Controles (optional, from EgoSecure version 21.0.2 onwards)
      5. EgoSecure Data Protection (optional)
      6. Secure Unified Endpoint Management (optional)
  4. Select "Install Package" and follow the instructions. The system will be in maintenance mode during installation. See the dedicated help for configuration packages.
