AirWatch: Installing Applications

With Matrix42 Enterprise Service Management, you can install applications on enrolled mobile devices by using the Provisioning – AirWatch Install Application provisioning workflow.

You can import applications from the MDM app catalog together with mobile devices. To do it, select the Import App Catalog checkbox when configuring the MWM AirWatch data provider. As a result, Matrix42 Enterprise Service Management will automatically create services for each imported application in Service Portfolio. On the Provisioning dialog page of the service properties dialog, you can view the read-only information about the platform which supports this application, e.g. Android, and device configuration group to which the mobile device belongs. These are the prerequisites for ordering this application via the Matrix42 Self Service Portal. Besides, the required technical target for this service is Computer and this cannot be changed.

To install an application on your mobile device, perform the following steps.

In Matrix42 Service Catalog:

  1. Click Service Portfolio in the navigation area.
  2. On the search page, locate the service for installation of the required application.
Note: According to prerequisites in our example, this service can be ordered only by users with enrolled mobile devices that support the Android platform and are registered in the corresponding device configuration group.
  3. Double-click the service to open its properties dialog. On the General dialog page, change the status of the service from Requirements to Operational and add the service to catalogs to make it visible in the Matrix42 Self Service Portal.
  4. Click OK at the bottom of the dialog.

In Matrix42 Self Service Portal:
