Matrix42 Marketplace Product Certification

Introduction

The Matrix42 Marketplace Partner Program empowers partners to build, test, certify and sell certified products or deliver certified integrated solutions on the Matrix42 platform. This Program Guide describes the policies, benefits and requirements applicable to the Program.

Overview of Matrix42 Marketplace Partner Program

The Matrix42 Marketplace Partner Program is designed for solutions partner companies that build add-ons and integrations and content for the Matrix42 platform and a requirement for those who wish to certify and sell products on the Matrix42 Marketplace. The Matrix42 platform is extremely configurable and customizable, resulting in many
different ways in which partners may sell their technologies. Some partners will sell integrations that connect the Matrix42 platform to the partner’s own hosted software. Others will sell Extension Applications, which run on the Matrix42 platform.

Registration

To participate in the Matrix42 Marketplace Partner Program you need a Matrix42 Account.
If you don't have created one follow the instructions in our Sign up documentation

If you are already a partner of the Matrix42 AG you may have already registered.

Product certification and re-certification

Certification of your product is the first step to publishing your product for sale on the Matrix42 Marketplace.
Partners must re-certify their Product to be current with the latest Matrix42 Platform release and the prior version.
Product name, pricing and description changes must be reported to the Marketplace team.
In this case the Sales Administration New Product Template document should be actualized and sent to the Marketplace team.

Register your Vendor Admin

Please ask the Matrix42 Certification Team to register your Admin (Matrix42 Account) in Marketplace.
With the new Matrix42 Account you'll have access to Matrix42 Services.

Register your Company

Ask Matrix42 Certification Team to register your company as Vendor in Matrix42 Marketplace (Products Vendors → Add Vendor).
Please provide the following information (only for partners):

  • Name: The name is how it appears on your site
  • Slug: The “slug” is the URL-friendly version of the name. It is usually all lowercase and contains only letters, numbers, and hyphens.
  • Description: Short description of your Company
  • Vendor Admins: A list of users who can manage this vendor's products and view the sales reports (Mail Addresses of the Admins)
  • Commission: The percent of the total sale price that this vendor will receive - can be modified per product (default is 70)
  • Street
  • ZIP
  • City
  • Phone
  • Web Site Urls
  • General Terms and Conditions Url
  • Logo

Create your product

After the development of the product is completed, you have to register the product in Matrix42 Marketplace (Admin-Site https://marketplace.matrix42.com/wp-admin) by creating a new Product https://marketplace.matrix42.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=product
The product should be created always in English. To translate the product descriptions, use the translation editor under the section “translate this Document” and click plus sign to add the translation for each language (German and French)

Click on the plus symbol to translate to a specific language. A new window opens.

Do not enter the slug in the translation language field.

To edit the translation, please click on the gear symbol of the selected language under the section "translations":

Product required fields

Field Description
Name name of your extensions. The extension names in the Extension Gallery and the Marketplace should be the same
Description (in English and German language)

Product and Content Privacy Compliance

Description short (in English and German language) Short text description: one to two sentences
Virtual (checkbox) yes
Downloadable (checkbox) No. In case of DWP Extensions. Extensions are installed via Extension Gallery
Product type (product data) Choose Simple product or Simple Subscription. Please note product variations (bulk prices) or dynamic prices aren't supported! We recommend to offer the use of discounts
Subscription price

Recurring price (every year)

Please note: the annual prices must always be divisible by 12. If the vendor can't set it that way, our Sales Administration will round the prices down. They are not allowed to round up

Sign up fee Sign up fee price if necessary (one time). We recommend not to charge a sign up fee. To speed up the deal process and to avoid unnecessary discussions with prospects.

Note: 

Generate a new SKU in case of new product or change of existing product name, type (subscription, simple etc..) or license metric.

For every price a SKU should be created (a SKU for subscription or simple product and a SKU for Sign up fee if defined).

The product will not be directly published in the Marketplace. The Matrix42 Certification Team will publish your product after successful review and certification.

Please note you have to inform the marketplace team und to coordinate before you make any changes in the published product. Especially name, prices, product type, descriptions, license metric or SKU changes! The marketplace team will inform the sales administration team

Certify your product

The certification process is designed to optimize the customer experience. Customers want assurance that the products they install into their environments provide the functionality they expect without having any negative impacts. Certification by Matrix42 provides an additional level of assurance to our customers that the products have met
certain specified requirements of Matrix42.

The certification considers usability, scalability, performance, security, compatibility and
reliability.

Certification Workflow

Products stay in the “In Draft” state prior to being submitted for certification. In the “In Draft” state you are making all the necessary configuration changes in your development environment, testing the product, writing your documents, filling in all the necessary information regarding your product, creating and adding any Supporting Documents or Media Assets. All of these items must be in their final form prior to submitting for certification. Once you are ready to submit for certification Click the button “Submit for review”.

The Marketplace Team will review the product and contact you to set up the next steps und initiate the certification process.


A product is considered “Ready for certification” when you have completed all of the required fields. These are as follows:

  • All Product fields marked as required (Marketplace products)
  • An extension is created in the Extension Gallery and connected to the Marketplace product using the product SKU to enable the In-App Purchase (Enable In-App Purchases for your Extension)
  • Supporting documents

The certification team will then pick up your product and evaluate it against the certification criteria. Typically, the certification team will first run an analysis of your product – making sure that the product has been built in a manner conforming to the Matrix42's Standards.
Should your product pass that step next they will review your documents to determine if the product meets Marketplace criteria. Upon completing that step, they will contact you to schedule a time to review your product.

The review normally consists of you installing your product on a fresh Matrix42 Environment and demonstrating that it functions correctly. Assuming that everything functions as expected during the review, your product will then be certified.

The Marketplace Certification Team will change the product Status to "Published".

The product can be published only if the corresponding extension is created and published in the Extension Gallery!

The extension names in the Extension Gallery and the Marketplace should be the same

In case of Updates or new Versions of your Certified product you may submit a request for recertification. Re-certification is a faster process than the initial certification if most of the product functionality remained unchanged.

Support your product

The Product Vendor shall provide 2nd- and 3rd-level support for each of his products and will notify the customer to ask him to contact the Product Vendor directly in case of any deficiencies. Support availability must be ensured on five (5) business days during the week during normal office hours within the Product Vendor's region, at least on eight (8) continuous hours from Monday to Friday (business days). The contact persons and respective contact details must be supplied to Matrix42 GmbH.

 

Matrix42 now provides two maintenance options:

Standard Maintenance and Long Term Servicing Branch (LTSB)

Standard Maintenance

Excluded Versions from the maintenance and support:

Versions of the software that are older than the version previous to the respective current version and if these are more than 18 months older than the respective current version.

Long Term Servicing Branch

Customers need Premium Support subscription.

Only announced LTSB-versions are supported.

Eligible customers have 12 months of time to migrate systems to latest and greatest product release.

Eligible customers may expand their migration window for additional 12 months with "Extended Maintenance" subscription (on request and for extra fee)
