iOS Guide II : Connect a device

Enrollment Process

To keep the enrollment as smooth as possible:

  • Open your Silverback Management Console
  • Navigate to Admin
  • Navigate to Self Service Portal
  • Open Simple Enrollment 
  • Enable iOS Simple Enrollment
  • Click Save
  • Log out

Simple Enrollment will prevent that user needs to enter their created One Time Token by themselves. You can disable this functionality later for security requirements.

From PC

Configure Self Service as an Administrator under Admin > Self Service Portal

  • Click Start
  • Note your activation one time password: e.g. dof9

Configure One Time Password as an Administrator under Admin > Self Service Portal > One Time Passwords

  • Change to your iOS Device
  • When you receive the SMS on your device you simply click on the URL link.
  • Silverback now want to download and install your Management Profile

When iOS Simple Enrollment was not set, then Safari Browser open and you need to type your One Time Password. The OTP is valid for one single try – so enter correctly first time. Otherwise you need to re-start from the beginning and open a new browser tab and enter the Silverback Self-Service Portal (SSP) address https://silverback.imagoverum.com/ssp

  • Tab Allow 
  • Tab Install
  • Enter your Device Passcode
  • Tab Install
  • Tab Trust
  • Tab Done 
  • You should see now Thank your for enrolling with Matrix42 Silverback

Your device is now connected to Silverback. 

  • Press the home button. Within 60 to 90 seconds you should see the M42 Silverback App Portal icon on your home screen.
  • Once you see the App Portal icons your device is under Matrix42 Silverback management.

From Device

Even though a lot of iPad user have an iPhone and can receive SMS on their iPad, you can enroll the device without an SMS.

The process is close to be same:

  • Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad.

Only Safari allows to install Management Profiles on iOS devices.

  • Open a new tab and and/or enter the Silverback Self-Service Portal (SSP) address https://silverback.imagoverum.com/ssp
  • Enter Username
  • Enter Password
  • Click Sign-In
  • Leave the Mobile field empty if your device cannot receive an SMS.
  • Select your ownership (optional) 
  • Accept terms and conditions (optional)
  • Click Start
  • Note your activation one time password: e.g. dof9
  • Tab the shown activation link 
  • Silverback now want to download and install your Management Profile
