Silversync Update I: Hybrid Setup Uninstallation
Before you Start
This Guide is designed for a Silverback Hybrid Setup, where Silverback and Silversync are located on the same machine. In this case you usually update Silverback and Silversync together. Please start with the Silverback Update I:Preparation Guide to ensure you will have a fallback scenario. After backups etc. are processed, please proceed with this guide to perform an Hybrid Setup Uninstallation.
Uninstall Software
Stop Services
- Open an administrative PowerShell
- Run the following command
- stop-service w3svc,silv*,epic*,mat*
Uninstall Silverback
- Open Control Panel
- Open Programs and Features
- Select Silverback
- Click Uninstall
- Confirm with Yes
- Click OK at the Reboot prompt
- Wait until the process is finished
- Refresh your Programs and Features view
- Silverback should new be disappeared
Uninstall Silversync
- Select Silversync
- Click Uninstall
- Confirm with Yes
- Click OK at the Reboot prompt
- Wait until the process is finished
- Refresh your Programs and Features view
- Silversync should now be disappeared
Cleanup Files
Delete Silversync Files
- Open Windows Explorer
- Right click your Silversync Installation folder, e.g. C:\Silverback\Silversync
- Click Delete
- In case the access is forbidden, you have two options
- 1. Remove Glyphicons font from Control panel:
- Open your Control Panel,
- Select Fonts
- Right Click Glyphicons Font.
- Click Remove
- After a reboot of the Server all files can be removed.
- 2. Delete everything expect the font:
- Right click all folders (except pfm) and press delete
- Enable Do this for all current items
- Click Continue
- Navigate to pfm folder
- Right click all folders (except fonts ) and press delete.
- 1. Remove Glyphicons font from Control panel:
Check Service Folder
- Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Silverback
- Check if SilverSync Service folder has been removed
- If not, please delete it
Universal Agent Framework
- Navigate to C:\Program Files
- Right Click Matrix42 Folder
- Click Delete
Delete Registry Entries
- Press Windows + R on your Keyboard
- Enter Regedit and press enter
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Matrix42\
- Right Click Silversync
- Click Delete
- Confirm with Yes
- Right Click Universal Agent Framework
- Click Delete
- Confirm with Yes
