Download Agent Setup

  1. Access the Download Agent:

    • Navigate to the top right corner and click on the grid icon represented by 9 dots.
    • Select "Download Agent" from the dropdown menu.
  2. Select Your Preferences:

    • Choose your desired platform (Windows or Mac).
    • Select the Stage (Alpha, Beta, Release).
    • Pick the Version and Setup Type (exe or msi).
    • Click "Start Download."
  3. Downloading the Setup:

    • Click "Download" to initiate the download of the Remote Agent Setup.
    • The download may take some time to complete.
    • The file, named "Matrix42RemoteAssistanceAgentSetup.exe," will be saved to the default download location specified by your browser.
  4. Installation:

    • After the download is complete, you can install the Agent Setup on the appropriate Windows or Mac clients.
    • Install the Agent manually or through your preferred software distribution method.

Updating Agents

  1. Schedule an Update:

    • Right-click on the desired machine.
    • Select "Schedule Update" from the context menu.
  2. Choose Update Options:

    • Opt to "Install Specific Version."
    • Select the desired version.
    • Click "Save."
  3. Initiate the Update:

    • The update will begin at the scheduled time.
    • If no specific time is set, the update will automatically start within the next 1 to 2 minutes.

Parameter

Installing Agents with Parameters

When installing agents, you can use the following parameters to customize the installation process:

  1. /folder=xxx:

    • If the folder "xxx" does not exist, it will be created.
    • The Remote Client will be installed in this specified folder.
  2. /silent:

    • Executes the installation fully automatically without user interaction.
    • The installation process is visible.
    • Default installation path: "C:\Programme\fastviewer Remote-Service".
  3. /verysilent:

    • Executes the installation fully automatically without user interaction.
    • The installation process is not visible.
    • Default installation path: "C:\Programme\fastviewer Remote Service".
  4. /replaceexisting=true:

    • Replaces an existing client registered on the tunnel server using this parameter.
    • The FQDN of the client must match the previous installation to retain its position in the remote client overview and any previously entered information, useful during reinstallation.
