AD groups

Overview

Active Directory or Azure Active Directory group is a collection of Active Directory / Azure Active Directory objects. Active Directory or Azure Active Directory groups can contain one or more user accounts, and each user account can be a member of one or more groups. Active Directory or Azure Active Directory groups are typically used with the Active Directory data provider.

AD groups are available in the Master Data application under GroupsAD Groups.

Editing AD groups

In the dialog of an AD group you can adjust the following settings:

  • Domain: Active Directory domain to which this group belongs.
  • Group Name: name of the group in the Active Directory / Azure Active Directory.
  • Status: state of this group in the Active Directory / Azure Active Directory.

Scope, type and ownership of an AD group can be set only while creating the group. After it has been saved, these values become read-only.

On the Accounts, Groups, and Devices tabs, you can add user accounts, other AD groups, and endpoint devices that are members of this Active Directory group.
