Logging On and Logging Off

Overview

This topic explains how to log on to and log off from the Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management Console and Matrix42 Self Service Portal.

Prerequisites

• To be able to use Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management, first enter the address of the Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management Console and Matrix42 Self Service Portalin the Local Intranet zone.
• The Internet Explorer Compatibility View should be activated either for the Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management Server, or globally for all servers in the Internet zone.
• You should be registered in Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management. The first login after the installation is possible only with the administrative user for interactive login. This user was defined during the configuration.
• We recommend that you always permit pop-up windows from this page.

To enter the address of the Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management Console and Matrix42 Self Service Portal in the "local intranet" zone:

1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the toolbar, click Tools > Internet options.
3. Go to the Security tab, select Local intranet, and then click Sites > Advanced.
4. In the Add this website to the zone field, enter the address of the Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management Console http://<your server name>/SPS and click Add.
5. Repeat this step with the address of the Matrix42 Self Service Portal http://<your server name>/SPS/Portal.
6. Click Close, and then click OK twice.
7. Close Internet Explorer and restart it.

Logging On/Off

To start the Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management Console:

1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. In the address line, enter the address of the Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management Console: http://<your server name>/SPS
3. Press ENTER.

To start the Matrix42 Self Service Portal:

1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. In the address line, enter the address of the Matrix42 Self Service Portal: http://<your server name>/SPS/Portal
3. Press ENTER.

We recommend that you add the addresses to favorites in Internet Explorer.

To log off from Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management:

Close Internet Explorer or click Matrix42 Button > Exit.

Logging On with the Matrix42 Account

If import of accounts from the Matrix42 Accounts server and the single sign-on option have been configured, you will be able to log on to Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management with your Matrix42 Account. If the single sign-on option is configured and enabled, you will see the Use Matrix42 MyWorkspace button on the login pages of the Matrix42 Software Asset & Service Management console and Matrix42 Self Service Portal.

To log in with your Matrix42 Account:

• Click Use Matrix42 MyWorkspace to be redirected to https://accounts.matrix42.com/.
• Log in with your Matrix42 Account.

If the authentication is successful and your account has been previously imported to Matrix42 Workspace Management, you are redirected back to the Matrix42 Workspace Management console or Matrix42 Self Service Portal and logged in with your Matrix42 Account.
