"Restart Computer" is one of many actions that can be used in the Enterprise Manager to modify a sequence, as illustrated in the following screenshot.
If the "Restart Computer" action is selected, the following window is displayed with additional configuration options with various alternatives to share information.
The window is divided into the following sections:
Two options are available: "Restart computer" and "Shut down computer".
Possible options to influence open applications on the user's computer are:
- Terminate started applications immediately or
- Wait for unsaved applications (i.e., wait until the end user has saved and closed all open applications).
There are two options among which you can choose: either allow or not allow the user to reschedule the reboot.
The "Auto restart" field can be used to specify when the computer shall be restarted (within a time frame of 1 - 120 minutes).
This last element of the "Restart Computer" action can be used to enter German or English information for the end user, based on a default text, which can be modified or extended; maximum length is 1000 characters.
Once all elements have been specified and Enterprise Manager distributes the task to one or several clients (additional information can be found here), the administrator can view his settings in the log with detailed information, as illustrated in the following screenshot.
The view in the Enterprise Manager Agent for the end user is either in German or in English, depending on the specified language.
