- Configure the settings of virtual machines:
- If the Create new computers checkbox is selected, you can choose the organizational unit to which newly imported computers will be assigned as well as select the status and management type for them.
- If the Change status for deleted computers checkbox is selected, you can use the corresponding dropdown field to set a preferred status to computers that are no longer imported from your company's AWS access portal.
- Fill in the Access Key and Secret Key fields. Refer here to configure these values on AWS access portal.
- Use the Resources View Region Name field to specify the region whose virtual machines will be scanned. Make sure that the region corresponds to the bucket mentioned below.
- In the Resources View Bucket Name field, specify the bucket name. Refer here to configure the bucket on AWS access portal.
- Save the configuration.
- Run the Enable and Activate action for the data provider.
By default, the import workflow processes 50 virtual machines simultaneously. If you need to speed up the process, you can add the VmListMaxResults custom parameter. Use this parameter to set a number of virtual machines to be processed in parallel.
Checking the import results
Click the configuration of the Amazon VMs Inventory data provider to open its preview.
The Last Result section of the preview shows if the import was successful or not. The preview also displays all jobs, workflow instances and import logs for the selected configuration.
You can also review jobs, workflow instances and import logs on the separate tabs of the configuration dialog.
After the successful execution of the data provider, you can also find an XML file with imported virtual machines in the Matrix42 root folder under Messages/Data/AmazonVMsInventory/LastResult.
