Access and Setup V: Message Templates
Message Templates
There are two types of message templates. User templates are used to send the user a message that could be relevant to multiple devices. (e.g. Initial Activation emails with PIN and server information). Device templates are used to send the user a message in regards to a specific device. (e.g. user has multiple devices and needs a password reset on one of the devices).
Edit existing templates
IMPORTANT: There are two templates by default: Welcome Message and Password Reset. If you wish to edit these two templates be sure to check with Matrix 42 support before making changes to any of the fields within the %% signs or change the Message type.
- Incorrectly modifying these could cause incomplete or incorrect information being sent to your users.
- Navigate to Setup
- Navigate to Message Templates
- Click the dropdown arrow on ‘View/Edit Template’
- Select the template you wish to edit.
- Make the appropriate changes that are needed and
- Click the ‘Submit’ button.
Add New Template
- Click the ‘Add New Template’ button.
- Enter the following information:
- Name (Friendly name of your template)
- Subject (What the user will see when the email is sent)
- Message Type (select User or Device depending on what type of information is being Relayed to the user)
- In the body type in your message. Ensure you use the keywords required for your particular email message. If you do not use the key words any information specific to that user or device will not be included in the message sent) Keywords: %FNAME% %LNAME% %EMAIL% %PIN% %RELAY% %TempPW% %QRCODE%
Delete Template
- Click the dropdown arrow on ‘View/Edit Template’
- Select the template you wish to delete.
- Confirm with OK
